    LGBTQ 101:  Identities and Allyship
    IN-PERSON Breakfast Meeting at Hampton Inn

    This presentation will engage participants in a thorough overview of the LGBTQ+ community, and best practices for safety, inclusion and allyship of  LGBTQ+ individuals and communities.

    Attendees will:

    • Gain a deeper understanding of sexual orientation, sexual identity, gender identity, gender expression, and sex assigned at birth, the differences between them and how they impact one another.

    • Learn language and definition of terms associated with the LGBTQ+ community, including lesser known terminology, such as hetero-normativity, the gender/sex binary, and cis-normativity.

    • Learn strategies to rethink social norms and expectations surrounding sexuality and gender in our society.

    • Understand how LGBTQ+ individuals are impacted by bias and exclusion.
