Each year our Chapter presentes a $1,500 scholarship award to a deserving WestConn Junior or Senior who intends to enter the HR profession upon his or her graduation (read more about our Scholarship Award below).
We are currently accepting applications from companies who are interested in sponsoring all or part of this scholarship.

STUDENT INVOLVEMENT
Our SHRM-WC Chapter strongly encourages human resource management students to be involved in our Chapter activities. Students can attend our monthly meetings for professional development in a wide variety of topics as well as for a great opportunity to network with professionals in the Human Resource Management field.
Monthly meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of each month. (See events section on this website for further details). Times of these sessions alternate between breakfast (7:00 to 9:00 AM) or lunch (11:00 to 1:00 PM). Students must call ahead to reserve a space at the monthly luncheon by calling 203-825-3120 by the Friday prior to the event.
Human Resource Majors at Western Connecticut State University can also apply for the annual "SHRM-WC Scholarship in Memory of Mr. Bernie Eisenberg". This year's scholarship application is available in the Management Department at WCSU. Deadline for application submission is March 5, 2008.
The annual scholarship is for $1500. Interested WCSU Human Resource students can contact the Chair of the Management Dept. or contact Maureen Gernert, Student Chapter Chair.
SHRM-WC professionals have also assisted students by acting as resources for student research on related HR topics. Students who are interested in learning more about how to get involved with SHRM-WC can contact Maureen Gernert, Student Chapter/Education Chair at 203-837-8266.
